The Rising Stars: Wyndelle Remonde

Wyndelle Remonde, one of Qube Gallery’s Rising Stars featured at the ManilArt 2014 shows how much his art has grown from his college days to the present where technology holds a big contribution.

Back in college, as a student he had to learn the basics, showing more realism in his works. His father, also an artist, is one of his influences together with his professors in UP Fine Arts that he also wanted to impress them. As he progressed, he started to experiment with different media and materials he could find abundant in his hometown Argao, Cebu which paved the way for him to realize his own kind of art.

Working as a graphics illustrator right after college, he has also been exposed to digital art and illustration. His previous job gave him the chance to get to know what he can do more with his skills. Through the years, Remonde’s art has evolved into what he calls pop graphical — showing realism and pop art in style combined with technology.

Remonde didn’t expect nor planned what his art has become to be what it is now. He considers them his happy accidents as he continuously learn, experiment and grow as an artist. Given this second time of being a part of ManilArt, he gives much credit to Qube Gallery who recently opened its door to the young and rising artists of Cebu, bringing their art to the national scene. With this, he could see a better avenue for the Cebuano artists to showcase their talents and encourage them to continue what they have already started. Because in this age of technology, the possibilities in art has become limitless.
